Know what to say. Be able to say it.

Having the words in front of you is not the same as delivering them clearly, confidently and naturally.

PurposeScript coaching works with your real business, your real material and the real communication situation in front of you.

Talk to us about coaching

Coaching for the moment that matters

You may be preparing for:

  • an important telephone call
  • a networking opportunity
  • a customer or sales meeting
  • a partnership conversation
  • an investor pitch
  • a conference presentation
  • a panel appearance
  • an internal announcement
  • a difficult question-and-answer session
  • a period in which your role requires you to communicate with greater confidence and impact.

The work begins with the situation, the audience and the outcome you need.

We do not impose a generic speech or ask you to perform like someone else.

We help you understand the message, make deliberate choices about how to structure it and develop a delivery that feels credible in your own voice.

One-to-one coaching session practising business communication delivery

What coaching can cover

Sessions may focus on:

  • preparation and structure
  • clarity and concision
  • confidence and personal impact
  • tone, pace and vocal delivery
  • listening rather than waiting to speak
  • adapting to the person or room
  • explaining complex information simply
  • using evidence and examples effectively
  • opening and closing
  • handling questions and objections
  • presenting with and without slides
  • recovering when the conversation moves away from the plan
  • identifying the next step you want the communication to create.

The work is practical. We use the material you genuinely need to communicate and consider the response it is likely to create.

From prepared words to natural conversation

A script can provide useful structure, but memorising every sentence can make communication less flexible.

Coaching helps you understand:

  • the central point
  • the order in which ideas need to appear
  • which details matter to this audience
  • what can be shortened or expanded
  • where a pause or question may be more useful than another paragraph
  • how to respond without abandoning the core story.

The result should not feel scripted.

It should feel prepared.

Focused support or longer development

A coaching engagement can be shaped around one immediate event, such as a presentation next week or an important meeting already in the diary.

It can also run over a longer period for a founder, leader or manager who wants to make a lasting improvement in how they communicate, present and respond under pressure.

Where useful, coaching can be combined with:

  • business-story and channel review
  • pitch development
  • presentation restructuring
  • team training
  • leadership development
  • investormap pitch preparation.

What a session may involve

Depending on the objective, a session may include:

  1. Clarify the audience and desired outcome

  2. Review the message or material

  3. Reshape the structure

  4. Practise the delivery

  5. Questioning and challenge

  6. Focused feedback

  7. Try alternative approaches

  8. Agree practical actions before the next session or event

Video or recorded practice can be used where agreed and useful.

Prepare for the real conversation

The best time to discover that a message is unclear is before the meeting begins.
